What does the DMV in TX check when you apply for your driver's license? Do they complete a background check?

I live in Texas and I don%26#039;t remember them doing a background check to get a driver%26#039;s license.

It%26#039;s not a background check, they will check to see if you are suspended or revoked in any other state, if you are, you will not be able to get a Tx license until you receive a clearance letter from the state that you are suspended or revoked from.
